Does God speak? And if He does, what is His language? Arabic? Chinese? English? Or another, higher language we do not know? What are its letters and words? How do we understand Him? How do we hear Him? What are the ways of hearing Him?
What does He say, and to whom? Is it reserved for apostles and prophets, or do I have the right to hear Him? What if I am blind and deaf? Can He speak to me as He speaks to the healthy? Can He?
So what is God’s language? Silence? Speech? Images? Colors? Touch? Taste? Music? Or something further still?
And what about me, if I want to speak to Him in one of the limited earthly languages? Will I know it? Will I be able to learn it? Will I understand it? Will I succeed in communicating with Him?
Can God Himself answer these questions, let me hear His voice, and speak to me as He did to Abraham, His friend?
